注意這系列很久了，
最一開始是因為它漂亮的書封，
看了一下簡介是反烏托邦就很有興趣，
當時以為它要拍TV movie就更加的關注，
曾經在遠流的雷克萊爾頓粉絲團看到有人詢問這系列他們能不能出但糰長說版權已經被買走了，
那時我就很好奇到底是誰要出，
但在作者官網上找了半天都找不到，
一直到今年三月跟噗友在噗浪上聊天才意外得知這系列是圓神要出版，
聽說之前不朽之心某集新書的書腰上有廣告，
事後我又回作者官網看才發現原來作者已經把台灣的出版社放上去了，我之前看時都還沒有。
這系列本來有要拍成影集，
我當初看到的是2012那版，覺得超期待，
不過在2013年5月國外的消息就說這系列影集跟妄愛一樣試映都沒過所以被砍了......
上面那篇文章說The Selection是因為題材跟同台(CW)的Reign類似所以被取消了。
內容簡介：
第一集：
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

作者有一本2009年的作品The Siren，後來在2016年把它改寫然後重新出版，
中文版譯為海洋綺戀，預計2017年盛夏出版。
